Clinical services through the UIC MinER Center address the respiratory care needs of active, inactive, disabled, and retired coal miners. We have more than 30 years of experience and offer medical/legal consultations on the most complicated and difficult cases of coal mine dust lung disease as well as other occupational lung diseases.

Our Black Lung Clinics program is a U.S. Department of Labor approved black lung disability examination site.  The program is one of fifteen U.S. Department of Health and Human Services funded clinics throughout the United States. We provide screening clinics, benefit counseling, and outreach services throughout Southern Illinois and Southwest Indiana in collaboration with Shawnee Health Services.

Our advanced occupational lung disease diagnostic and treatment clinic is in collaboration with and located at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago.
