The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services funds black lung clinics throughout the United States, including the UIC Black Lung Clinic Program. We provide screening clinics and benefit counseling and outreach services throughout Southern Illinois and Southwest Indiana in collaboration with Shawnee Health Services.
Our advanced occupational lung disease diagnostic and treatment clinic is located at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago. Coal miners and other workers with occupational lung disease from around the world may be referred to this clinic.
