There are a few things that you can do to prepare your home.
- Disinfect high touched surfaces in your home. (Door knobs, light switches, counter tops, sinks, etc.)
- Keep an adequate supply of food, cleaning supplies, household items, and pet food.
- If you take prescription medication, contact your healthcare provider for a system or schedule to pick up needed medications.
- Discuss a plan with immediate family in the event a family member becomes sick.
- Create an emergency contact list of family members, friends, neighbors, health care providers, teachers, and employers.
- Make sure you have a thermometer and respiratory medications on hand.
- In the event that someone becomes sick in your household (if possible) designate a room where they can recover.
